MetDESKTM, Division of Estate Planning for Special Kids

MetDESKTM, MetLife’s Division of Estate Planning for Special Kids was established to help families plan for the financial future of their children or other dependents with special needs. Launched in January, 1998 as one of the first of its kind in the financial service industry, MetDESK focuses on the concerns of families who have children or other dependents with special needs. It offers a dedicated network of specialists nationwide who provide customized financial solutions to meet families’ needs.

According to Vice President and MetDESK creator Nadine O. Vogel, MetDESK’s training is unique within the financial services industry. "Special needs planning is too complex for the untrained or marginally trained financial services representative or even a general estate planning attorney. Specialists need on-going and extensive training to keep pace with the constant changes in federal and state government benefits laws, future trends in special needs planning, and innovations in planning techniques," she explains.

As a MetDESK Specialist, I am dedicated to working with the special needs community in offering assistance and financial guidance, as well as educational workshops for families of special needs children.

MetLife is the four time (1999 - 2002) winner of the National Business & Disability Council’s Valued Customer Gold Award of Honor. This award recognizes MetLife’s leadership in responding to the special needs of families with children with disabilities. The MetDESK program in particular was cited by the business community and the community-at-large for acknowledging that persons with disabilities are valued customers.
